Car/Bus Ramble: Borrowash/Elvaston Castle Walk

We will walk along the riverside and into the grounds of Elvaston Castle to admire the gardens and trees including some large Redwoods. There will be time to wander around the castle area and stop for coffee. Dogs are welcome on this walk. An interesting spring walk.

About the event
What we will do: Start time: 10:30am from Borrowash Cross Roads.
Walk length: 6/7 miles. Start from the cross roads near the Victoria Avenue Bus Stop in Borrowash. Walk along the riverside and into the grounds of Elvaston Castle to admire the gardens and trees including some large Redwoods. There will be time to wander around the castle area and stop for coffee. Dogs are welcome on this walk. We can have lunch either in the café or bring your own picnic to sit and eat in the grounds. An interesting spring walk.

Directions by Car: There is a 2-hour time limit for parking at the Borrowash Co-op Car Park, but there are public toilets round the back of the Coop. It would be wise to park on a side road nearby in Borrowash. Watch out for parking restrictions on the side roads though.
