Small Group Club Holiday Weekend 19th-21st June 2026

Situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park, YHA Castleton Losehill Hall Hostel is a fully refurbished gothic mansion, set within 27 acres of parkland and offering stunning views across its picturesque surroundings. There are various options for accommodation, such as £50 per person per night for an ensuite dorm of 4; £125 for an ensuite single room, or camping at £15 a night. Booking early is recommended as the rooms do fill up. 

 

There is a self-catering kitchen so you can take your own breakfast and make lunch easily, though you can also purchase breakfast to eat in (£5.95 continental; £9.95 cooked). We will eat at the hostel one night (mains are between £9 and £13), and at a pub /restaurant in Castleton on the other night (to be decided). 
 

Yvette will be leading a medium level walk on the Saturday and Sunday from the youth hostel, starting at 9am each day, and there will also be a shorter walk on the Friday afternoon. We are looking for leaders for short and long walks on the holiday.

Club Group Walking Holiday Planned for Spring 2026

11 people now have a confirmed booking on the 7 day guided walking holiday staying at the HF Holidays’ centre at Church Stretton. It begins on the 3rd April 2026. It is not too late to book on to this holiday. Anyone who comes with us will be entitled to the group rate - however this is of course subject to room availability, and single rooms especially do go quite quickly. The brochure price of this holiday for a single room is £1119 but we will be paying the group rate of £969. If you are an HF holidays member you will get an extra £30 off your holiday. A deposit of £100 is required to secure your place. The idea is that we should arrange car share to keep down costs. The Long Mynd House at Church Stretton is undergoing very extensive refurbishment. Initially HF had the property on a lease but have now bought it and they are spending heavily. This should be a lovely place to stay.
